So glad you included a favorite of mine: Gislebertus (#1), with the remarkable 12th c. carving from the St Lazar Cathedral in Autun, France.
#2 Tissot (their flowing saffron robes signal their status as astronomers.)
#14 Ramsey
#20 Thoma
#24 Tissot
I should’ve mentioned this earlier in this series, but it still applies, there is a mini series from 2010 titled The Nativity .
It’s currently available on Apple TV (for a fee, unfortunately) and Amazon. I thought that it was very well done, the Magi are prominent in it. It’s well worth the time to watch.
I love Gislebertus’ hilarious depiction/ They ought to hang it on the wall of the New Jerusalem.
And Tissot’s #2 is one of my all-time favorites.
My favorite is Mike Rich and Catherine Hardwicke's Nativity Story, with Keisha Castle-Hughes and Oscar Isaac.
Wow, this might be the best batch of art yet! I love Tissot’s and Dore’s, especially for their detail. Yet the others are impressive for their colors. Then the glass windows and textiles are just as impressive.
You nailed it: those two are the absolute kings of [correct] detail.
